Who are mandatory reporters?
A “mandatory reporter” is any person who delivers health care, welfare, education, children's services, residential services or law enforcement wholly or partly to children (aged under 16) as part of their paid work and includes any person who directly manages or supervises such work.

Mandatory Reporter Laws Training
As part of our service to the community, we offer an in-service training on Mandatory Reporter Laws. This training is 90 minutes long and addresses the legalities of the Mandatory Reporter law, how to make a report, who to report to, what information is needed and how to make your report successful to assure that it gets the proper response from CPS and/or law enforcement. This law, A.R.S. 13-3620, identifies members of the clergy and “any other person who has responsibility for the care or treatment of the minor” as mandatory reporter

YFAC Staff wants to talk to you! We have speakers available for the following topics:
- Yavapai Family Advocacy Center - This presentation explains the purpose of an advocacy center and what resources they have for the community.
- Children and Meth - The consequences that a parent's elicit drug use has on the children in the family.
- Advocacy for the victim of Domestic Violence - The Yavapai Family Advocacy Center provides advocacy to victims of domestic violence in Prescott Valley.
- Support Groups - Learn more about the support groups offered by the Yavapai Family Advocacy Center.
- Warning signs of child abuse - If you are a parent, grandparent or guardian of a child who has been molested, there are signs, possible indicators that abuse may have happened.
- Anger and your child - How to deal with you and your child's anger. The fundamentals and practicality of anger and discipline.
- Communication and relationship building - Is it working for you? Are you and effective communicator?
- Domestic Violence - From definition to your next-door neighbor, how domestic violence effects us all. The impact domestic violence has on the family and on children. What are things that people can do when they know someone is involved in a domestic dispute?
- Domestic Violence and our community of Prescott Valley - An overview of services provided in our community for victims and families of domestic violence.
- Emotional and verbal abuse - So it's not as bad as physical abuse, or is it? Does domestic violence include emotional abuse? Defining abuse and how to tell when you may be in an unhealthy relationship.
- Cycles of Domestic Violence - This presentation will discuss the cycle of violence: Phase one-Tension, Phase two-Explosive/Violence stage and Phase three-Honeymoon.
- Sexual Abuse -This presentation will provide the effects of sexual abuse. We will discuss shock, denial, self-esteem, fear and anger.
- Teen dating - This presentation will help teenagers understand the difference between a healthy relationship and an unhealthy relationship. What parents need to know about teen dating violence.
