Family Violence Support Groups

We offer ongoing group support for survivors of domestic violence.  Groups are available for both English speakers and for Spanish speakers.  Our Family Violence support group weaves in the Windows Between Worlds Program, a creative art approach to healing and empowering women who have been affected by intimate partner violence.  Survivors have the opportunity to share their story and their healing process with others, while also supporting others in their growth.

Parent Support Groups

When a child hurts, parents hurt.  When a child has been sexually abused or sexually assaulted, the non-offending parents often experience the crisis along with their child.  They may feel confused, angry, grief stricken or guilty at their inability to protect their child.  They may feel lost and confused as to how to best help their child heal, particularly when they themselves are trying to heal. The Yavapai Family Advocacy center offers a parent support group for those parents who are caring for a child who has been sexually abused or sexually assaulted.  These group meetings focus on education, and provide a safe place for parents to explore their own feelings while they also learn ways in which to best provide support to their child.
